York Hall, Bethnal Green, is an iconic 1920s building internationally known as the spiritual home of British Boxing. The main hall is a multi-purpose indoor arena which can host sporting events, music concerts, weddings, product launches, fairs, conferences and Christmas parties .
Brief
We’re a major boxing and entertainment venue. We require:
- Door staff to ensure a maximum of 1280 people enter the venue.
- Conduct bag and guest searches on the door.
- Security inside the hall to keep guests, staff and public safe.
- Continually monitor the crowd and deal with any anti social behaviour
- Ensure the safe access and egress to the building and surrounding public areas
Action
VIP Security Services has been working with York Hall for nearly nine years. The team has developed security protocols by creating a series of managed security procedures. VIP works in partnership with York Hall’s management and events team to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.
On the ground the team complete pre event safety checks with either the general manager or the events manager, these include: a complete a sweep of the building to ensure the venue is safe (all exits clear, no unattended bags etc). VIP manages the queue at the front door and ensures the venue gets all of its guests into the building safely and efficiently. The team also tackles any unwanted behaviour in a professional manner.
VIP supply a core team who work at the majority of events, that way there’s a strong working relationship between the events team at York Hall and those brought in on a part time basis. VIP also extends its security team to offer further back-up and provision for large scale events at the venue.
