Thorpe Lakes is London’s ultimate beach front watersports resort. Boasting over 150 acres of stunning lakes and park land Thorpe Lakes has been a leading watersports provider in the UK for over 20 years.
Each year Thorpe Lakes opens-up its doors to clubbers to enjoy nine-hours of top dance music. The event has attracted top acts, such as The Streets’ frontman, Mike Skinner, and Radio 1 DJ, Danny Howard.
Brief
We’re a top water sports venue and we need on-site security guards during the peak season to make sure our premier facilities, staff and guests are kept secure.
We host a one-day dance event, Transitions Beach Festival, that attracts 2500 people. To guarantee the smooth running of the day, and to ensure the security of all, we require:
- Event stewards
- Door supervisors
- Search teams
- Stage and VIP security
Action
VIP Security Services were approached as the previous company were not up to the task in hand. After lengthy discussions VIP was awarded the contract and have been working in partnership with Thorpe Lakes for the past four years.
Over the summer months a security team maintains the safekeeping of the venue 24-7.
To ensure the safety and security of festival-goers to Transitions, VIP Security Services has put together a well-oiled team to secure the event’s success.
On entry to the festival VIP Security’s team of event stewards guide traffic and revellers to the right location. All bags are searched by VIP’s specialist search team. Door supervisors are on-hand to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves and all visitors are secure.
A team is also put in place to control crowds and to ensure the party atmosphere doesn’t get out of hand. Security personnel also man the front of the stage to stop crowd surfing and any stage invasions.
